In the past, I've gotten to the site in the afternoon, when the ceremony was over, tho the place was always still filled with families of the victims, and scores of visitors. This year I got there early, before the ceremony was over, so I couldn't get as near the actual site, tho still pretty close.
Right across the street was a middle aged biker type guy, standing proudly next to this wire contraption he'd made. I had passed him by & glanced at it before turning around & walking back to see what it was.
"Here... Stand right here, and tilt your head down a little & then look up thru the wire." He said.
The wireframe aproximated the shape of the Trade Center towers in the space of the sky they used to occupy.
The guy was beaming about it.
"See? Anyone can make their own tribute. It's easy!"
