When I heard that James Brown had passed away early Christmas morning, and was going to return to Harlem to lie in state on the stage at the Apollo Theater for the public to pay their respects, I quickly decided I had to go.

I took the A Train to 125th St, getting there a couple of hours before his body was supposed to arrive by horse drawn carriage.
